This article about the Solar cycles is interesting and just for that I hope it is true. It also sounds like pseudoscience as it claims there is a connection between planetary line-ups and solar cycles.
Solar cycles are of varying length and the average length during the past 3 centuries is about 10.7 years.
Venus, Earth and Jupiter, the tidally dominant planets for the sun, align every 11.07 years.
Venus and Earth are close and large enough to influence the sun, while Jupiter is simply massive enough.
I don’t think anyone suggests that the alignment drives the solar cycles but it is conceivable that the alignment, like our own tides are influenced by the alignment of the sun and the moon, could push the solar cycles towards the same frequency.
It’s just a hypothesis at the moment but interesting.
