Almost as if we’ve been played

EU has allowed itself to become reliant on energy from natural gas, supplied by a neighbouring nation that is acting antagonistic towards us. We’ve become reliant on natural gas as we closed down a number of nuclear power plants and hoped to replace their energy output with energy from variable renewable energy sources, preferably wind and solar. It hasn’t worked out that way and most likely can’t for a great many years.

Meanwhile, that neighbouring nation which has an abundance of natural gas is building nuclear power plants.

It’s one thing to lose a game. It’s another to lose a game that we designed ourselves.
