Et par noter som opfølgning til “det var i 2004“:

Jon Stewart’s besøg på CNN’s Crossfire blev det mest sete i iFilms historie, inden TV produktionsselskabet Viacom’s opkøb tog livet af iFilm, i kategorien virale videoer. Over 3½ million gange blev videoen vist.

Jeff Jarvis skrev i 2005 om Viacom’s opkøb at det var en reflekshandling fra et distributionsselskab der tror det kan eje og styre distributionen af dens indhold. Og historien viser også at iFilm forsvandt. Jarvis tilføjer:

If CNN and Viacom were smart, they would use the exploded network, the distributed world, to get their stuff around. CNN should have tacked an ad on that Stewart-Crossfire segment and put it up on BitTorrent itself. Instead, everybody else did it for them.
